Speaker B:I'm Liz.
Speaker A:And we're gonna talk about season 13, episode 9, the Bad Place.
Speaker B:It's better than the Bad Touch, I guess.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Made me think of like the Good Place show because there's the Good Place in the Bad Place.
Speaker B:There is.
Speaker B:Although this was done.
Speaker B:This came out before that was a thing, so I guess they did it first.
Speaker B:But I mean, I enjoy the Bad Place and the Good Place.
Speaker B:I mean, I would hang out in that Bad Place because at least I would like be one of the demons there.
Speaker B:They were pretty enjoyable.
Speaker A:They were entertaining, mainly.
Speaker B:They're mainly just about farting.
Speaker A:It was a lot of farting.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Which is kind of a different take on demons from the show.
Speaker A:Yes, a much different take on demons, but yeah.
Speaker A:Well, Liz, what have you been up to?
Speaker B:Well, I just got back from my trip, so we took a week off.
Speaker B:For those of you who.
Speaker B:Who catch us every week, thank you for your patience.
Speaker B:Sometimes we just need to take weeks off because we can't.
Speaker B:Happens always.
Speaker B:We can't always double up.
Speaker B:And so I went to Lilydale, New York, which is for those of you who know, you know, but it's, you know, the.
Speaker B:The.
Speaker B:The medium.
Speaker B:Spiritualist town in upstate New York.
Speaker B:And the weather was kind of nice, kind of bad.
Speaker B:It was in the 60s and raining, so it was like kind of like being in Seattle a little bit.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:But then like when it wasn't raining that it was really nice and sunny and pretty and got to do all the Lilydale things got.
Speaker B:Was there for Shannon Taggart Symposium and so got to hear some cool lectures on the history of spiritualism, which I always enjoyed.
Speaker B:I.
Speaker B:And then there was of course, like all the mediums giving messages at.
Speaker B:At the Stomp.
Speaker B:I think I got a message for Diana, not for me, but that's just how this goes.
Speaker B:No, the message wasn't for me.
Speaker B:Maybe it was for your sister.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:You ask your sister.
Speaker B:So then there was.
Speaker B:There was two, like, medium events I thought were really cool.
Speaker B:They want to share.
Speaker B:So one was on Monday nights.
Speaker B:They do this every day in the summer.
Speaker B:All the registered or most of the registered medium come out from their houses and for $20, you to go sit with these mediums and get a reading.
Speaker B:So it will Be like a medium for.
Speaker B:For like a group of like three to four people.
Speaker B:My group is only two people because I was there by myself and I was the loser who wasn't there with friends.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And also.
Speaker B:So this is how it would go, right?
Speaker B:So you would.
Speaker B:Everybody goes into the auditorium.
Speaker B:It's a pretty big auditorium, and each medium has a empty chairs around them.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:And then they would just kind of divide people into groups of three or four and.
Speaker B:But there are people who are kind of upset that they weren't with, like, the people they came with.
Speaker B:And to me, it was kind of like I felt like it was being on an airplane.
Speaker B:Like, do you need to sit with your, like, close people on an airplane and talk to them?
Speaker B:Like, sometimes it's okay to be with people you don't know, you know?
Speaker B:And maybe your entire family doesn't need to hear.
Speaker B:Like, I don't know if I would want my family hearing all of my messages from the dead.
Speaker B:There could be embarrassing stuff in there.
Speaker B:There, you know, so.
Speaker B:So I thought.
Speaker B:But that was just.
Speaker B:But there were so many.
Speaker B:Like, it was like 30 mediums for like a hundred people, so.
Speaker A:Oh, wow.
Speaker B:Yeah, it was.
Speaker B:And also, everyone's getting their readings done at the same time.
Speaker B:And it's like 20 bucks.
Speaker B:And normally, like to get a private reading for these mediums, it's like 200 an hour.
Speaker B:So I think getting this.
Speaker B:It was like, hey, like, I'll do the 20 thing.
Speaker B:Like that.
Speaker B:That seems like a much better.
Speaker B:I'm not saying that 200 is.
Speaker B:Is it worth your.
Speaker B:Your money?
Speaker B:But it's just not what I prefer to spend 200 on.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:That's just my choice.
Speaker B:And so $20 was more my jam.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And I got to sew on.
Speaker B:So that was one of the medium things that likes.
Speaker B:That was my, like, mental mediumship.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:On Wednesdays, they highlight physical mediumship, and that's where spirit is manifesting and giving you physical evidence of things.
Speaker B:So it could be like ectoplasm coming out, making spirit trumpets move.
Speaker B:They do spoon bending.
Speaker B:And this week that I was there, it was transfiguration.
Speaker B:And that's when the ectoplasm makes people's faces change into, like, different things.
Speaker B:So the way that they did it was she brought her own spirit cabinet, and her spirit cabinet was really a shower tent for camping.
Speaker B:So it was like kind of I, I, I.
Speaker B:That is.
Speaker B:I don't know how to describe what they are.
Speaker B:You just look up shower tent and you'll.
Speaker B:And you'll see what Those eyes are.
Speaker B:But that's what they brought.
Speaker B:And would put a folding chair inside of it and then put a red light on her face.
Speaker B:And she went into trance.
Speaker B:And then the group of us sat around and watched her go into trance and then talked about what we saw.
Speaker B:And like, I. I don't know.
Speaker B:I think her face changed into a man.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker B:And it could just be in.
Speaker B:And then they said, like, the more you talk about it, the more likely you are to see, which psychologically makes sense to me.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:The more.
Speaker B:The more somebody says, oh, I see her growing a goatee, then everyone else is.
Speaker B:You're more likely to be like, oh, I see.
Speaker B:It's like looking at clouds, right?
Speaker A:Yeah, that's exactly.
Speaker A:I was about to say.
Speaker A:It's like, oh, that looks like a bunny or a dog.
Speaker A:And everybody's like, oh, now I see it.
Speaker A:But they wouldn't have otherwise.
Speaker A:Yeah, right.
Speaker B:So it's the pattern recognition, like, mixed in with, you know, with the group mentality and then just what your brain is doing as you're looking at this light.
Speaker B:But I mean, it's.
Speaker B:Or she was getting.
Speaker B:Or she was merging with a spirit world and her face was changing.
Speaker B:I'm not gonna say that didn't happen.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:But it was a cool way to.
Speaker B:You know, it was in the haunted hotel.
Speaker B:So it was a cool.
Speaker B:It was a cool environment.
Speaker B:And, yeah, it was.
Speaker B:It was a fun.
Speaker B:A fun little seance thing that I hadn't done before.
Speaker B:So it's always fun to do, like, new.
Speaker B:New ghosty stuff.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:Yeah, and that.
Speaker B:That was.
Speaker B:It was a good trip and.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:What have you been up to?
Speaker A:What have I been up to?
Speaker A:Oh, I don't know, man.
Speaker A:I guess, like, the biggest things is that we've got Socket starting training, so.
Speaker A:Yay.
Speaker A:Puppy training.
Speaker A:And then Dave and I are now season ticket holders to the new soccer league in Dallas, the lower than mls.
Speaker A:That's a ultra Uls, I think is.
Speaker B:What it's called the World Cup.
Speaker B:Got you.
Speaker A:I did, man.
Speaker A:Well.
Speaker A:And, like, I can't.
Speaker A:He's a big Premier League fan, and I know a lot of people that are.
Speaker A:And I just can't get attached to a team in England that plays at an annoying time.
Speaker A:And soccer is hard to watch on television.
Speaker A:But I love an event.
Speaker A:Like, I'll go to.
Speaker A:Like, I will go to an event.
Speaker A:So if I can go to something that's kind of fun.
Speaker A:And it's at the Cotton Ball, which is in Fair Park.
Speaker A:In Dallas.
Speaker A:And I love Fair park and it's exciting to go to Fair because it's cool old art deco buildings.
Speaker A:It's amazing.
Speaker B:We'll see how you feel after a season of this.
Speaker A:Correct.
Speaker A:We will see how I feel after a season of this.
Speaker A:See how many of the games we go to versus like say, oh, you want to use our tickets?
Speaker A:Here you go.
Speaker A:You know.
Speaker A:But yeah, that's a, that's about it because we've been.
Speaker A:We had a lot of family stuff before that and then.
Speaker A:Yeah, did a bunch of family stuff for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and then we.
Speaker A:And then that's when you went out of town on your birthday and then.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's where we're at now.
Speaker A:I'm going to now.
Speaker A:About to go out of town myself.
Speaker A:My vacation now.
Speaker B:Now it's Diana's turn.
Speaker A:Woohoo.
Speaker A:I'm ready.
Speaker B:Everybody needs a little vacation.
Speaker A:Oh my gosh.
Speaker A:For real?
Speaker B:I'm ready for a lot of vacation.
Speaker A:I mean, I prefer a lot, but I'll take a little.
Speaker A:How about that?
Speaker B:I'll take a little.
Speaker B:I would like.
Speaker B:I would like a lot more.
Speaker B:And you know, it's always fun when you go to some place where it's.
Speaker B:You're not staying in a luxury hotel.
Speaker B:And I guess like my past few trips haven't been like real luxury places, you know, like getting.
Speaker B:And it'd be nice to get a little.
Speaker B:A little pampered.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's fair.
Speaker A:That's fair.
Speaker B:But anyhow.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:And so nothing really is going on with the boys except that it was Jared's birthday because his birthday is right after mine.
Speaker B:And so he is one year younger than me, I think.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:I think so.
Speaker B:He's 48, not to look exactly, but I think he's one year.
Speaker B:He was one year behind me anyhow, so happy birthday, Jared, and I hope you didn't do anything stupid.
Speaker B:And hey, you never know, Sharon Padalecki.
Speaker B:And I'm sure he had a great time anyhow.
Speaker B: ,: Speaker B:And he last directed this season.
Speaker B:He did the.
Speaker B:He did the season premiere, he did Lost and Found, and he also directed all on the Watchtower, the season finale of last season.
Speaker B:And this was written by Robert Barrons.
Speaker B:And this year, this season he did Patience, which makes sense given that this episode and then last season did a bunch of them, of course, including Right towards the end, he did 22s who we are.
Speaker B:So makes sense with the storylines.
Speaker B:Kind of like both having both of them around on here.
Speaker B:All right, so our recap patient psychic vision of Jody getting stabbed.
Speaker B:Jack is an interdimensional can opener.
Speaker B:More Jack and Lucifer.
Speaker B:Jody telling patience dad, she's a psychic.
Speaker B:He doesn't want the hunter's life for her.
Speaker B:But Jody always has an open door for patients.
Speaker B:The Mary punching Lucifer and ending up in the back bad place.
Speaker B:Jack could be the solution for Mary.
Speaker B:Jack killed the security guard and thinks he's evil like Lucifer.
Speaker B:And then he amps crack grade.
Speaker B:And that was our recap.
Speaker B:And we.
Speaker B:Then we go to what is like an artist studio.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And we've got a.
Speaker A:A woman there and with the artist.
Speaker A:And yeah, they're talking about his.
Speaker A:There's had a really scary painting in the background.
Speaker A:They're looking at.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:They're making out.
Speaker B:And she's just like, you've got this, like, painting, and it's kind of looking at me.
Speaker B:And she's like.
Speaker B:Uses it as an excuse make her escape.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because he's waiting on a private collector anyways, so knock, knock, knock.
Speaker A:We have a Jack is there.
Speaker A:And so Jack is his private collector there to look at his art.
Speaker A:And they're like, oh, you're a little young to be an art collector, but okay.
Speaker A:So she leaves and he's.
Speaker A:I think this is my weird comment.
Speaker A:And I'm not judging, but I like.
Speaker A:I think it's like he works in digital and oil.
Speaker A:And that seems like a big spread of.
Speaker A:Of different mediums, but good for him for having a varied.
Speaker B:He has rage.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:But she.
Speaker A:But Jack's just straight up like, the woman's gone.
Speaker A:And Jack's just like, hey, I'm here because you're a dreamwalker.
Speaker A:And our artist who find his name is Derek.
Speaker A:He's just like, Yeah, I just say that for, like, the articles.
Speaker A:It's whatever.
Speaker A:And Jack's like, no, no, I know you are.
Speaker A:And I'm gonna give you your whole background because I know your entire family lineage of Native American.
Speaker A:You know, medicine man.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So your father was a medicine man and his father before him.
Speaker B:And he traces his lineage all the way back to the shaman black elk.
Speaker B:And then he's like, but you can see other worlds.
Speaker B:And this one, Derek's like, man, like, if you're not gonna buy my.
Speaker B:You need to go.
Speaker B:And Jack somehow has a wad of cash.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:What the.
Speaker A:How did Jack get cash?
Speaker A:But either way, he's like.
Speaker A:Jack's like, I need you to dreamwalk for me.
Speaker A:And points at a painting of Apocalypse World and is like, there, that's where we need to go.
Speaker A:So we see Derek's a little apprehensive, but he puts his feet in some water and Jack stands behind him and puts his hands on his head and they're.
Speaker A:You know, he starts meditating.
Speaker A:He's like, this is not my favorite place to go.
Speaker A:Which is fair because we've seen Apocalypse World and it looks unpleasant.
Speaker A:I don't think it's where I'd want to go.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so we see all this and Jack's encouraging him and pep talking him.
Speaker A:And then when he can't go any further, Jack puts.
Speaker A:Squeezes his head.
Speaker A:And there's gold stuff coming out of Jack's fingers into Derek's face.
Speaker A:And Derek, he taps into his brain.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it just does not look pleasant for Derek.
Speaker B:This does not look like a good time.
Speaker A:He looks very painful.
Speaker A:He's yelling out.
Speaker A:But either way, Jack can see what he's seeing there.
Speaker A:And then we see the water steaming and it seems bad.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:And so then Paula comes in.
Speaker B:That's a girlfriend.
Speaker A:And after Jack's gone, after Jack has.
Speaker B:Left and she finds Derek there with his eyes burnt out.
Speaker B:And so we're left with that.
Speaker B:We go to the bunker where Dean is calling our friend Patience.
Speaker B:We haven't seen in a couple episodes because he's just desperate.
Speaker B:He's asking for her for help trying to find Jack.
Speaker B:Cass is still looking for Jack.
Speaker B:They found out.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:But he's not in this episode.
Speaker B:He's looking for Jack.
Speaker B:He's working a lead in Tucson.
Speaker A:Or is he?
Speaker B:Or is he?
Speaker B:And Jody calls to tell them that there is a local artist and there is a body whose eyes have been burned out.
Speaker B:And there was a witness and it looked like Jack was there.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So from there we cut to patients at home or doing homework.
Speaker A:And she is looking at her phone and sees a bunch of missed calls from Dean.
Speaker A:But she's not answering them, but she's getting them clearly.
Speaker A:And her dad's like, oh, I heard you got a C on your test and your plan is to get a perfect GPA and a perfect SAT so you can go to Ivy League school.
Speaker B:And so yeah, he's really on those.
Speaker B:Sounds like very 90s train.
Speaker B:You could do anything if you get into an Ivy.
Speaker B:That's all you got to do.
Speaker B:And all you have to do is be perfect.
Speaker B:That's fine.
Speaker B:Like no problem.
Speaker B:Just be Perfect.
Speaker B:You teenager.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And she's like, but hey, it's only one.
Speaker A:Only one time I've gotten to see.
Speaker A:But also Dean's been calling me and her dad's upset, but she's like, I haven't answered him.
Speaker A:And he's like, well, but everything's been working.
Speaker A:You haven't been having any visions, right?
Speaker A:And she just kind of like, yeah, sure.
Speaker A:But she's looking at her phone.
Speaker B:And we go back to Bismarck, North.
Speaker A:Dakota, because of course Sam and Dean are going to go investigate the guy, the artist with the burned out eyes.
Speaker A:Because how could they not?
Speaker A:And they are the Paula, the girl, Derek's girlfriend.
Speaker A:Which weirdly in the cast they call.
Speaker A:They have the same last name.
Speaker A:So I think it's supposed to be his wife.
Speaker A:But anyways, okay.
Speaker A:But they call it girlfriend in the episode.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker B:Okay, yeah.
Speaker A:IMDb.
Speaker A:But she's like, yeah, that's definitely a photo.
Speaker A:Ew.
Speaker A:Ew.
Speaker A:Oh no.
Speaker A:They show a picture and they're like, yeah, that's Steph.
Speaker A:She's like, yeah, Jack, that's who was here.
Speaker A:And they are commenting on some of the art.
Speaker A:And that's when you know, she's.
Speaker A:You know, he comment on his imagination.
Speaker A:And she says that he didn't like that word.
Speaker A:He used a different word to describe his work.
Speaker A:It was reportage, I think.
Speaker A:And so portage.
Speaker A:Portage.
Speaker A:And so places that he would visit as a dreamwalker.
Speaker A:And Dean sees the painting of Apocalypse World and he is.
Speaker A:Knows that that is.
Speaker A:That has to be something.
Speaker A:That's because it's Apocalypse World.
Speaker A:So they go out to the car and Dean's getting coffee.
Speaker A:Sam is looking at dreamwalker lore in John's journal.
Speaker B:Because John's journal has the answer to everything.
Speaker B:Amazing.
Speaker B:Like the lore on dreamwalking is pretty inconsistent.
Speaker B:And he's not wrong.
Speaker B:So this is kind of lore.
Speaker B:Because again, the lore about dreamwalking is very inconsistent.
Speaker B:And most of what I found seemed to be new age garbage.
Speaker B:There is a lot of older literature from anthropologists about dreams and indigenous cultures, but they were more like about vision quests and dream interpretations, not necessarily about traveling to other worlds.
Speaker B:There's the.
Speaker B:On Iron Otics.
Speaker B:Groups of people who do like astral projection.
Speaker B:But that's.
Speaker B:It's still.
Speaker B:It's different.
Speaker B:It's not the same.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:So there is.
Speaker B:To be specific, here is some information I found on the garbage website, which is lore.com.
Speaker B:I'm sorry, your.
Speaker B:Your site's not garbage.
Speaker B:It's fine.
Speaker B:And this was about how to dream walk.
Speaker B:This is how they're telling us how to do it.
Speaker B:So according to witcheslore.com first, you need to create a bedtime ritual.
Speaker B:And none of this stuff seemed to be what Derek was doing.
Speaker B:So apparently Derek is doing this all wrong.
Speaker B:Okay, so you should have a ritual before you go to bed.
Speaker B:It should be five to 10 minutes long and be done regularly so your spirit can get the message.
Speaker B:It is time to dream walk.
Speaker B:They recommend lighting a candle and saying, with this flame, I opened the door to sacred dreaming.
Speaker B:Now, if you could sleep with a lit candle, good for you.
Speaker B:But I can't.
Speaker B:And I don't suggest that you do.
Speaker B:They also suggest burning some mugwort, lavender, or sandalwood incense to help cleanse your space.
Speaker B:And I don't know who has mugwort incense, but if you do, you should burn it, I guess.
Speaker B:Anyhow, they also say you should gently anoint your third eye with some kind of oil, which is, I think, pretty good.
Speaker B:Like, don't smack yourself in the face hard, you know, like, do something.
Speaker A:Moisturize.
Speaker B:Moisturize right there.
Speaker B:And they said you could use any kind of oil, even just olive oil.
Speaker B:So just go to your kitchen and grab some olive oil and, you know, maybe some avocado oil.
Speaker B:That would also be nice and moisturizing.
Speaker A:Yeah, not butter.
Speaker B:Not butter.
Speaker B:I don't think the butter would be great.
Speaker B:I think it needs to be an oil, you know, that's more egg yolk than.
Speaker B:Than, you know, oil, so.
Speaker B:And it can also leave a little film, too.
Speaker B:Then they think you should make a dream walking charm or a talisman that you can carry around or put under a pillow.
Speaker B:And that could be a small pouch of herbs.
Speaker B:Again, they're urging mugwort or chamomile or rose.
Speaker B:Rose to sleep with.
Speaker B:No, thank you, Grandma.
Speaker B:That's not a.
Speaker B:That's not a sleep smell.
Speaker B:I also just don't like rose, so it's just overpowering scent anyways.
Speaker B:So you can use a crystal like amethyst, celestite or Labradite.
Speaker B:Labradite.
Speaker B:Or draw a sigil on paper, cloth, or your skin.
Speaker B:Dun, dun, dun.
Speaker B:So draw all over yourself.
Speaker B:And then we already.
Speaker A:We already did that.
Speaker B:We already had to say, I permanently drew on myself.
Speaker B:So before you fall asleep, though, you should visualize your portal and picture yourself walking, walking through the portal again in a gentle way.
Speaker B:But you don't have to do this alone.
Speaker B:You can call your trusted spirit guides, your ancestors, your deities, or any other trusted allies to come on your side.
Speaker B:You can call them by saying, spirits who walk with me, I invite you into my dreams.
Speaker B:Guide me, teach me, protect me as I cross the veil tonight.
Speaker B:Or instead, you can say this spell.
Speaker B:By night's embrace and starlight deep, let's see spirit rise while body sleeps.
Speaker B:I walk the path where magic flows to realms beyond where spirit goes.
Speaker B:Nice little rhyme they got going there.
Speaker B:So the site says while dream walking, you may move differently, be able to fly or talk without words.
Speaker B:You can meet ancestors or your spirit guides.
Speaker B:You may also visit places you've never been and they may seem scary.
Speaker B:But if you see something frightening, try not to panic, as these could just be reflections of your trauma, which to me is also more horrifying.
Speaker B:I'm like, I'm seeing a monster.
Speaker B:And it's like, this is.
Speaker B:Remember that thing that happened to you as a child?
Speaker B:Like, no, I don't want to remember it.
Speaker B:That's why it's called trauma.
Speaker B:And locked up in here.
Speaker B:I don't want to meet my trauma monster.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker B:But you can always remind yourself that you're dreaming or lean on the spirit guides who are with you.
Speaker B:And they say next time you should set stronger protections.
Speaker B:Then the article gives a list of do's and don'ts.
Speaker B:First is protection first, which I think is a good rule for most things.
Speaker B:Protection first, you know, glove up here.
Speaker B:And they say that a simple warning spell or crystal near your bed can do wonders.
Speaker B:But you should stay grounded.
Speaker B:Even magical exploration work is better when your body is well fed, hydrated, and rested, which I don't think you should be grounded if you're trying to move out of, like, in your spirit, like in your dreams and moving into things, like, I would think you would want to be less grounded, right?
Speaker B:I don't want to be, like, feeling all heavy, but that's just me.
Speaker B:They think you should work with the moon.
Speaker B:The full moon is very powerful for dream work, but the waning moon can be great for healing journeys.
Speaker B:Do use the sigil symbols.
Speaker B:Be open.
Speaker B:Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work.
Speaker B:Sometimes your spirit just needs to get more comfortable.
Speaker B:You should feel free to ask for help.
Speaker B:Your guides and your ancestors and deities can assist you.
Speaker B:Just be respectful and be clear in your request.
Speaker B:Don't be a dick.
Speaker B:You've got to be nice to them.
Speaker B:Pay attention to repeating symbols.

Speaker B:You should take some extra rest after you go on your dream journey because sleeping can be exhausting.

Speaker B:So Derek was doing none of those things.
Speaker B:I don't know why he had his feet in water.

Speaker B:I'm like, I don't.
Speaker B:And it just feels unpleasant.

Speaker A:What steamed Eventually.
Speaker A:So me.
Speaker B:It did steam eventually.
Speaker B:All right, so in the car, after Jack.
Speaker B:After Sam is not having any luck on his lore quest, Dean is back on the we need to kill Jack train.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because he's like, well, he must have gone to the apocalypse world looking for daddy.
Speaker A:So they think he's looking for the.
Speaker A:They think he has gone bad and he is looking for Lucifer.
Speaker B:For some reason, they haven't made this conclusion.
Speaker A:And Sam's like, well, we don't know about that, but we need to talk to a dream walker.
Speaker A:Because good news.
Speaker A:Sam's already hacked Derek's email and found another dreamwalker that he was emailing with.
Speaker B:That's convenient.
Speaker B:So her name is Kaia.
Speaker B:And where is Kaya?
Speaker B:Kaya is in rehab.
Speaker B:No, she is.
Speaker C:No.
Speaker B:And this group leader seems awful.
Speaker B:He is not a good way to get someone to emotionally share.
Speaker B:He wants her to talk about the incident when she apparently overdosed on amphetamines and had more in her bag that she didn't steal that gasp she bought from a drug dealer, which he makes it sound like.
Speaker B:This is very.
Speaker B:I'm like, you're in a rehab place.
Speaker B:All of you have bought drugs from a drug dealer at one time.
Speaker B:It's why you are in rehab.
Speaker B:But she does make a very cute quip that she prefers to think of it as a small businessman just trying to make it in Trump's America.
Speaker A:But we learned that she's there under court order.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:And then he wants her to talk about her scars and she's just like, dude, stop.
Speaker B:And then.
Speaker B:And then she tells him that she's not an addict.
Speaker B:And which everyone's like, of course you're not.
Speaker B:That's what we all say.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker B:But she's trying to explain that the junk is the only thing that keeps her awake and away from the bad place.
Speaker A:Yeah, and he's like, oh, we all face our bad places.
Speaker A:Luckily, this very terrible group session ends.
Speaker A:And who is there but Jack?
Speaker A:And he introduces himself to Kaya and he tells her that he's there because he likes cocaine.
Speaker B:And which, oh, she thinks he's just a rich boy, but I could also see Jack liking cocaine.
Speaker B:So he tells her though that she, he is a friend of Derek's and he knows that she, he, she is a dreamwalker and he can get her out of there.
Speaker B:So just follow me.
Speaker A:And while this is happening, Sam and Dean have pulled up at the facility and the Sam's sharing Kai is very sad.
Speaker A:Family history.
Speaker A:Basically everyone's dead.
Speaker A:And then she OD'd.
Speaker A:Got arrested.
Speaker A:And so while that's happening, we've got Jack and Kai walking down the hall.
Speaker A:The counselor tries to stop them and Jack just boops the counselor and she follows him and.
Speaker A:But she's like looking at him like he's crazy.
Speaker A:Asks what he is.
Speaker A:He's like, you're not the only one with powers.
Speaker A:And right when they get outside after he refuses to tell her what he is, she's like, okay, you got me out.
Speaker A:Bye.
Speaker A:Because she is not interested in learning anything more about Jack.
Speaker A:And Sam and Dean are there in intervene.
Speaker A:And while Jack's distracted, Kayak kicks him and punches him and runs.
Speaker B:She does.
Speaker B:Well, he was also being very aggressive with her.
Speaker B:At some point.
Speaker B:He was like holding onto her arm and I can see her being like, no, I don't want to do that.
Speaker B:So after she punches him and takes off, the boys stop Jack from following her because they think that he killed Derek.
Speaker B:But he didn't even know.
Speaker B:But Derek was dead.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And he's like, no, I, you know, I. I just left to get a grip on my powers and I was trying to do a good thing here and I was, you know, figuring out how to open to other worlds and I use the dreamwalker eyes and I found Derek and it worked.
Speaker A:And I followed his, his dream, walking with him.
Speaker A:And I got to the Apocalypse World and I found Mary and she's in the Iron fucking Maiden and she's alive, but she's in danger.
Speaker A:And then Derek woke up and he shows this by touching Sam and Dean's heads and demonstrates this whole thing to him.
Speaker A:And our eyes all glow.
Speaker A:And now they're upset.
Speaker A:They see what he saw.
Speaker A:They see that Mary's being tortured.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:That freaks sign out.
Speaker B:Then we go to Kaya, who is hitchhiking, which is never great.
Speaker B:And a couple stops her and.
Speaker B:But they pan inside the car, and we can see angel blade.
Speaker A:Angel.
Speaker B:Angels.
Speaker B:And that's who killed Derek.
Speaker B:The course says why his eyes were burned out.
Speaker B:Because it was angels, of course.
Speaker A:And they bonk her on the head and take drive away.
Speaker A:And so, yeah, we get a cut from that to a creepy scene in the woods and Jody getting stabbed.
Speaker A:What the is happening?
Speaker A:Apparently, this is Patience's vision that she inconveniently gets while driving.
Speaker B:So while she's driving, which seems like a insurance nightmare.
Speaker B:I don't even want to think about this one.
Speaker B:And you hit my car while you were having a vision.
Speaker B:But also, why do her visions always end up with Jody dying?
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker B:You just, like, really tuned into that.
Speaker B:So we go from that to a basement or something of some abandoned structure where Kaya is tied to a chair.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And the angels tell her that we.
Speaker A:We don't really want you.
Speaker A:We just want Jack.
Speaker A:And she's like, cocaine boy.
Speaker A:And they're like, no, no, he's the son of Lucifer.
Speaker A:And she's like, what the.
Speaker A:But basically, they.
Speaker A:They.
Speaker A:We get a little monologue that they tried to get info from Derek, but they tortured him to track her down and then killed him.
Speaker A:And now she's bait.
Speaker B:And the Winchesters got involved like they do, so they needed bait.
Speaker B:And the cops are also looking for Kya.
Speaker B:Dean is now.
Speaker B:We're in baby now.
Speaker B:And so Dean has now gotten off of the let's kill Jack train and now has jumped on the let's find Mary train and now is back to, like, being all cool with Jack.
Speaker B:And he asked Jack if he's okay.
Speaker B:And Jack is like, y' all thought I could kill Derek?
Speaker B:What the fuck?
Speaker A:What is wrong with you?
Speaker A:Yeah, and they're like, well, we didn't know.
Speaker A:I mean, it could have been an accident.
Speaker A:And, you know, whatever.
Speaker A:You know, when you disappeared, you weren't in a very good place.
Speaker A:And, you know, Dean's like, you know, we.
Speaker A:We thought you were really looking for your dad.
Speaker A:And he's like, why?
Speaker A:He's known to me.
Speaker A:You and Castiel are my family.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker B:And Dean agrees.
Speaker B:He says, yes, we are.
Speaker B:And that finding Mario was a good thing.
Speaker B:But then Jack gets hit with Rangel angel radio and determines that they have Kaya.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we go to Patience's house where she is packing.
Speaker A:And her dad is pissed because she's going to miss a few days of school.
Speaker A:And he's going stop her.
Speaker A:And she's like, well, my friend's in danger.
Speaker A:And that's.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:I have to go.
Speaker A:I have to go help.
Speaker A:The visions never stop, dad.
Speaker A:By the way.
Speaker A:It's usually small, and I can try to ignore it, but this doesn't work anymore.
Speaker A:I have to follow through.
Speaker A:And Dad's like, trying, like, oh, I was wrong to lie to you about your grandma and all that.
Speaker A:And she's like, okay, fine.
Speaker A:But I'm gonna do the right thing because that's what you taught me to do.
Speaker A:And he's like.
Speaker A:Then he flips it, and he's like, fine.
Speaker A:If you choose that life, don't come back.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Such crap.
Speaker B:Why?
Speaker A:She's in high school, man.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:No, and just, you know, I guess his life with.
Speaker B:With his mom really him up or something.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker B:Like, it must have even.
Speaker B:It's just.
Speaker A:It's just.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I don't know why he thought that would work.
Speaker B:But she leaves anyhow, so now she's got these bad things with her dad, but.
Speaker B:So she hits the road, and we go to our abandoned building.
Speaker B:And Kaya is telling them that their plan sucks because nobody will come looking for her because she doesn't think she matters.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And they're like, no, no, they will, because that's.
Speaker A:That's what they do.
Speaker A:And then we're gonna kill the Winchesters, and we're gonna take Jack.
Speaker A:Ta da.
Speaker A:But guess what?
Speaker A:They're already there.
Speaker A:And Dean has another angel held with an angel blade to their neck.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Sam's like, no, we're taking the girl.
Speaker A:And the angels are like, jack, you should be with your own own kind.
Speaker A:You should come with us.
Speaker A:And Jack's like, but you kill people and kidnap them.
Speaker A:Why would I go with you?
Speaker A:And she's like, no, come on.
Speaker A:Come home.
Speaker A:He's like, I am home.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A:And then we have a fight.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:And he's like, we need to figure out what to call him, what his thing is.
Speaker B:Because I'm like, jacksonic, blast the angels.
Speaker B:I don't know what to call this.
Speaker B:Like, and they, like, freeze and slow.
Speaker A:Mo and change direction.
Speaker B:Yeah, I don't.
Speaker B:I don't know what it is.
Speaker B:So I'm just going to sonic glass.
Speaker A:And I like it.
Speaker A:I like it.
Speaker B:So one of them goes out the window, and then he stops one from stabbing Dean, and then he makes him stab himself.
Speaker B:So Dean goes after the other angel, and then they you know, they tell Kaya that we're hunters and Jack is the son of Satan.
Speaker A:And they have to explain that those were bad angels.
Speaker A:So Jack's like, come on now.
Speaker A:Come on, Kaya.
Speaker A:Come with us.
Speaker A:We'll protect you.
Speaker A:And she's like.
Speaker A:And Sam's like, yeah, we need you.
Speaker A:My mom's trapped another world, and Jack knows where it is.
Speaker A:He can open the door and we can all save our mom with your help.
Speaker A:And she's like, no, I don't want to.
Speaker A:I don't want to dream walk, y'.
Speaker C:All.
Speaker A:But, yeah.
Speaker A:So she thinks that dream walking is a curse, not a gift.
Speaker A:And that, you know, Derek was free to go see a bunch of paradises.
Speaker A:But all she sees, the only thing that she sees is the.
Speaker A:Is the Bad Place.
Speaker A:Full of blood, death, and monsters.
Speaker B:And it's not just dreams.
Speaker B:So when she gets hurt on the other side, she wakes up bloody.
Speaker B:And that's where her scars have come from.
Speaker B:So her scars have come from the Bad Place.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker B:Yeah, that's bad.
Speaker B:But Dean is not taking no for an answer.
Speaker B:And he pulls his gun out on her and tells her to get in the car.
Speaker B:Going to South Dakota.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, that was a little bit of a turn for Dean.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So he is now threatened a young teenage girl with the gun because he wants to get his mom back no matter what.
Speaker A:So they're driving, and Sam's a little shell shocked by this, too.
Speaker A:But he doesn't stop Dean.
Speaker A:Just saying.
Speaker A:So Sam's like, what are we gonna do?
Speaker A:Are you gonna make her dream walk at gunpoint?
Speaker A:And Dean's like, we're gonna get mom back no matter what.
Speaker A:And while they're talking about this in the front seat, clearly, Jack and Kaya can hear this conversation because they're sitting in the back seat.
Speaker A:And Jack's trying to talk about how.
Speaker B:He can relate because he was scared.
Speaker A:Of his powers, too.
Speaker A:But as they are driving, we notice the angel that got away out the wind by getting flung out the window is driving the shitty station wagon towards them without headlights.
Speaker A:So Jack explains that Derek thought that they could help each other.
Speaker A:And she's like, but Derek's dead because of you.
Speaker A:And he's like, look, let me just give you five seconds.
Speaker A:I'll show you what Derek saw.
Speaker A:It's not just the Bad Place.
Speaker A:It's everything.
Speaker A:And so he touches her head, and her eyes glow gold.
Speaker A:And she's just, like, in awe at whatever he shows her.
Speaker A:And he's just like, look, you know anybody powers can be good.
Speaker A:Be good and do good things.
Speaker A:Things.
Speaker A:And then they almost get in a wreck.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:By the station wagon.
Speaker B:And so they pull off the side of the road in a shipyard.
Speaker A:It's so weird.
Speaker A:A closed shipyard.
Speaker B:Dakota.
Speaker C:What?
Speaker B:Body of water.
Speaker B:I'm sure.
Speaker B:I'm sure.
Speaker B:I'm very ignorant.
Speaker B:And there is a huge lake or something there that I don't know about.
Speaker B:But I'm like, why is there a shipyard in the middle of Dakotas?
Speaker B:Okay, so I'm bad at geography.
Speaker A:Maybe that's why it's closed.
Speaker B:Maybe that's why it's closed.
Speaker B:Why there's no water for it to go on.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:So Jack is getting hurt by angel radio.
Speaker B:So they all run to an abandoned boat because they're like, you know what?
Speaker B:We.
Speaker B:We've done a lot of abandoned warehouses.
Speaker B:We really haven't done a lot of abandoned boats.
Speaker A:But they do have a go bag.
Speaker A:I was impressed.
Speaker A:They did grab a bag that seemed.
Speaker B:To be prepared for this situation.
Speaker A:But they run onto the boat, which is such a weird choice.
Speaker A:But while Sam and Jack and Kaya goes on the boat, Dean waits outside to face off with the angel chick.
Speaker A:And they're like, we need the angel.
Speaker A:We need the boy, because heaven's running out of angels and he can save us.
Speaker A:And Dean says, you dicks can fry.
Speaker A:And then there's a whole bunch of angels.
Speaker A:And then Dean's like, oh.
Speaker A:So he runs to the boat, too.
Speaker A:And Sam is frantically painting sigils to keep the angels out.
Speaker A:But it's not.
Speaker A:It's too many of them.
Speaker A:Dean's like, we're screwed.
Speaker A:There's just too many.
Speaker A:At the same time, Jack's telling Kaya everything's going to be fine.
Speaker A:So it's very reassuring situation for all of them.
Speaker B:And so the angels start smiting the sigils.
Speaker B:And Dean wants to go out guns blazing.
Speaker B:And Kaya has another plan that they can just open a door to another world.
Speaker B:So the angels continue to smite.
Speaker B:Kaya goes and sits into a chair and goes into a trance to go into another world world.
Speaker B:And she just goes straight to the bad place.
Speaker B:She doesn't go like she said.
Speaker B:She doesn't go anywhere else.
Speaker A:And there's like a giant skull there.
Speaker A:It looks like almost like a.
Speaker A:Like a cartoon dinosaur skull.
Speaker B:It does.
Speaker B:It's like prehistoric dinosaur land where that they seem to be.
Speaker B:She seems to be showing.
Speaker B:And Jack wants her to let go.
Speaker B:And it manages to zoom out.
Speaker B:And you kind of get to see, like, all These different, like worlds.
Speaker B:Universes that are.
Speaker B:That are kind of floating.
Speaker B:It's kind of cool.
Speaker B:And then he was like, oh, there's Apocalypse World.
Speaker B:Let's go there.
Speaker B:And so we could see that.
Speaker B:We could see Mary.
Speaker B:But then Kaya keeps going back to the bad place.
Speaker B:And then she screams and then she gets all glowy.
Speaker B:And then the glowy light kills all the angels.
Speaker B:And then everyone is gone.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And all that's left is one of the gold.
Speaker A:The gold line.
Speaker A:The rift or whatever little riff line is there.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:And we.
Speaker B:So we go over there.
Speaker B:We go to Jody's.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Now we're just at Jody's house and she is leaving a voicemail for Sam to see if he's okay.
Speaker A:And who's at the door but patience.
Speaker A:Knock, knock, knock.
Speaker A:And tells her something bad is coming.
Speaker A:Oh, that's what you want to hear?
Speaker A:Don't you just want someone that has visions to show up at your door and say that?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So great to see you.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker B:You couldn't have called first?
Speaker B:So I could be.
Speaker B:So I could be gone.
Speaker B:So we go back from there to the shipyard and in the dock are a bunch of angel blades melted, like felt into the dog.
Speaker B:Is pretty cool.
Speaker B:And then you can see the wings on the ship walls, which, you know, also was pretty cool.
Speaker A:Agree.
Speaker A:And they zoom out.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And we zoom out.
Speaker B:We find out kind of where everybody landed.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Kaya's on the grass next to a road.
Speaker A:And it looks like normal world.
Speaker B:It looks like Earth the world.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Regular.
Speaker A:Regular.
Speaker B:So she's regular world.
Speaker B:And Jack, though, is in Apocalypse World with Mary.
Speaker B:And she's.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:Mary's in her cage and there's Jack.
Speaker B:So they're.
Speaker B:They're.
Speaker B:Jack has made it to Apocalypse World.
Speaker A:Correct.
Speaker A:But Sam and Dean are in the woods in what appears to be Kaya's bad place, which had.
Speaker A:And they start walking and they step and fall into Fall.
Speaker A:Step down into a giant footprint.
Speaker A:Like a dinosaur footprint.
Speaker A:Footprint, as we said.
Speaker B:And like a bird footprint.
Speaker B:Because there's only three toes.
Speaker A:Correct.
Speaker B:The three toes.
Speaker B:So.

Speaker B:But there's only one of them, so we can't see them.
Speaker B:But, you know, they don't even notice that they've walked into it.

Speaker A:I liked it.
Speaker A:This was a interesting episode.
Speaker A:It had a lot of twists and turns, a lot of fun characters.

Speaker A:But I. I actually really enjoyed the episode and the concept.
Speaker B:I think it's like a concept.
Speaker B:And I mean, I wish Derek.
Speaker A:I wish I hadn't killed Derek.
Speaker B:He was a cool character.
Speaker B:And, you know, the idea, again, the idea of dreamwalking is annoying, you know, from the lore standpoint.

Speaker B:It's not clear.
Speaker B:And it's also a part of it, I think.
Speaker B:Think is if you're saying it's something that is from Native American culture, that is something that is traditionally an oral culture.
Speaker B:So not a lot of things are getting written down.

Speaker B:I said there was a lot of things from, like, anthropologist perspective.

Speaker B:And I wasn't really finding, like.
Speaker B:Like even like Blackout Speaks, which is a good book and I'm glad I have it.

Speaker B:As opposed to dream walking, which I think is different.
Speaker B:And that there's two different concepts.
Speaker A:I think.
Speaker A:Like when I hear dream dream walking, I think of like, in.
Speaker A:Oh, gosh, I forget the character's name in like the TV show Ghosts, like, going to visit someone else in their dreams.
Speaker A:Because there's other concepts about that too.
Speaker B:Which we did that in this show with the African dream route.
Speaker A:Oh, I know.
Speaker B:I'm just saying that that's more the.
Speaker A:Term I think of.
Speaker A:That's what I hear.
Speaker A:Dreamwalk.
Speaker A:That's what I think of the word.
Speaker A:But I know it's not.
Speaker B:But for this, it's is going through as visiting other dimensions and other worlds and finding that it.
Speaker B:Finding that specifically when I was.
Speaker B:That's what I was trying to find.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker B:And even just talking about people walking into other people's dreams.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:That was something that was not really talked about.
Speaker B:It was more about like, your dreams are.
Speaker B:Get interpreted a certain way or, you know, it was more about the dream itself and not really about going into other worlds.
Speaker B:I know, so that was that.
Speaker B:That concept of it gets to me.
Speaker B:But I mean, I. I'm glad we brought Kaya in.
Speaker B:I'm glad Patience was in the episode.
Speaker B:We got a little bit of Jody, which is prepping for next week's episode, which will be pretty.

Speaker A:Yeah, he's just along for the ride.
Speaker A:Like, he's like, okay, I'll do my Sam things here.
Speaker A:I did some research and I'm gonna draw some sigils.
Speaker A:That's what I do.
Speaker B:I've stray painted some sigils at finally gotten to the point of like, we can use spray paint.
Speaker B:We don't have to cut our hand.
Speaker A:That's good.
Speaker A:Very true.
Speaker B:But yeah, at least they finally.
Speaker B:They're packing spray paint.
Speaker A:There's something in the go bag of use.
Speaker B:Something in the go bag of use.
Speaker B:All right, so go bag abuse.
Speaker B:I think that's a good note to end it on.
Speaker B:Make sure your go bags are prepped with useful things for sure.
